about
With Screw My Head Back On I went a bit more experimental with my drum programming. At first it sounded like someone with 8 arms had played it. Once I toned it down a bit it was remarkable to see that Len’s lyrics eventually sort of mirrored that state of chaos we were both experiencing when creating the music. It can be relatable to know from time to time we all experience this state of chaos, of conflicting inner dialogues and having a sense of feeling like I want my head to be screwed back on and make all the thoughts stop. It was really inspiring to see how we brought it together in just one creative session and by combining the jazzy drums with wavy warm synths it became a soothing, beautiful song.
lyrics
Learning to say no to things
Is easier said than done I think
Never late but I’m always rushing
Running after the train and crushes
When will I learn that my time
Is worth more than yours
Patience is key (Patience is key)
Let it take flight (Let it take flight )
Follow its course
What’s yours will always be mine
Try find the time to
Screw my head back on
So I can understand
What is going on
Been tunnel visioned
For far too long
So I must try to
Screw my head back on
Screw my head back on x3
Running running
Away from
Problems problems
So I don’t
Have to think about the things I did
I make no effort
To make myself fit in
Patience is key (Patience is key)
Let it take flight (Let it take flight )
Follow its course
What’s yours will always be mine
Try find the time to
Screw my head back on
So I can understand
What is going on
Been tunnel visioned
For far too long
So I must try to
Screw my head back on
